Laurna Prantil joined Marquette as full-time adjunct instructor in 2017. Prior to Marquette she was an economist at the Institute for Defense Analyses, a Washington, D.C. Federally Funded Research and Development Center for the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy’s Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. She directed a research program which supported the Defense Information Systems Agency and other Federal Government agencies during the U.S. telecommunications deregulation and the deployment of the internet. Her economic work spans topics in defense economics, telecommunications economics, economics of regulated (and deregulated) industries, transfer pricing, and operational efficiency. She was active with the Center for Research of Regulated Industries, the National Information Infrastructure Testbed Consortium and MILCOM organizations. Ms. Prantil is a consultant and grant writer for several local nonprofit organizations.
In addition to her career, Laurna is blessed with a wonderful husband, two teenagers and a dog. She loves to travel, hike, garden and volunteer in the community.
